Brighton is a real hotbed for great restaurants and numerous festivals and HMC have recently been appointed to create a marketing strategy for a new business to Brighton which provides an ‘online restaurants listings directory site’ for consumers and Brighton foodies. The site will highlight which restaurants to go to, reviews, food festivals, membership, special offers and much more.
If you had the best possible ‘Restaurants website’ for Brighton – What would you like to see on the site? What do you like/ dislike regarding current sites that are currently out there in the market place? If you do have time to give your feedback then please email nick@harveymarketing.co.uk

Networking is an incredible tool for generating business in my opinion and something which helps businesses understand the different business types that are out there. Success in networking isn’t guaranteed though and it depends to which business type or industry type you are operating in. Networking enhances the process of relationship marketing and relationship building whereby every contact could possibly become a buyer of your products or services, or on the other hand these contacts could become ‘sales ambassadors’ for your business. With all this in mind though, you have to ask yourself the question – is the perception of what I’m presenting as good as it can be, is there an opportunity to follow up on this contact and is this the right networking event for me? Your ability to spot opportunities in networking and then convert into a sale where possible is paramount also.
Some people don’t network and they can be incredibly successful, some people don’t network and have very little business. I personally generate about 50% of my business through networking then about 50% through referrals. Networking helps with the development of an individual too and enhances ones ability to communicate. This is so important in business as some people do not always have strengths in these areas.
I actually offer marketing mentoring whereby I take clients into networking situations and they become more effective at building relationships and ‘closing sale’. I also host the ‘Brighton Business Curry Club’ which attracts around 50 networkers on a monthly basis. It is clear to see that people are winning business by attending these events and they are developing their profile in the market place. I highly recommend networking and it helps me maintain revenue levels in my business and my clients’ businesses’. Plus it helps me support my profile in my given business markets.

A marketing mentor is a marketing expert who will develop you, encourage you – and motivate you in such a way so you are in the best possible position to get to the next level. Small business owners and marketing managers sometimes need to remind themselves to do things they know they should be doing, but often they get overlooked. For others, marketing is not second nature it is a word which is quite alien to them and always the last thing on their ‘to do list.’  The Harvey Marketing Company offers a highly experienced, senior marketeer to work alongside business owners to help them get back on track – so you are nurtured and developed in the best possible way so your business reaps the benefits.
